A Refined Form
With a 388mmL× 265mmW× 88mmH wide-body design, DMP-A8 Gen 2 delivers a more refined and balanced presence. The larger chassis provides more space for internal architecture, while the extended proportions create a look that is understated yet powerful.
Wider View, Smoother Control
DMP-A8 Gen 2 introduces a redesigned UI experience, turning the display into an intuitive control center—not just an information screen.
Every Turn, Refined
Each rotation feels smooth and effortless. Smooth damping, precise response. Volume, input, and functions—all in a single turn. Clearly defined micro-scale markings. Simple, intuitive control. Clean and fluid.
Flagship DAC Architecture
Each component plays a dedicated role. The DMP-A8 Gen 2 pairs the AK4191EQ digital processor with the AK4499EXEQ DAC, allowing each stage of the signal path to be optimized for maximum precision. Ensuring precise processing at every stage of the signal path. From lossless formats such as FLAC, WAV, and APE to DSD512 playback. More musical details are preserved, with a quieter background and greater separation.Combined with AKM’s Velvet Sound™ technology, Vocals, instruments, and spatial imaging become more natural and engaging.
Less Interference, More Detail
A dual-power architecture separates power supply for digital and analog sections. Power paths are isolated at the source to reduce cross-circuit interference. When power is compromised, detail is lost and dynamics are constrained. A cleaner power foundation ensures stable operation of the DAC and analog circuits. The linear power supply achieves an ultra-low 20μV noise floor, preserving subtle signal variations. Removed constraints allow the sound to fully unfold.
Timing, Perfected
Time is the foundation of digital audio.Built-in dual ultra-low phase noise clocks precisely support both 44.1kHz and 48kHz sampling families.By stabilizing the time base at the source, they reduce the impact of jitter. With more accurate timing, sound becomes more clearly defined, details are more focused, and the soundstage opens naturally.
